Why do you keep using the tag "Charter Rights" when discussing these bills? I think it would be quite a stretch to find a Charter violation.
ReplyDeleteIf you think otherwise, does the SFL plan on funding a Charter challenge?
Andrew,
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in this blog.
We will fund a Charter challenge if that is what becomes necessary.
The government could short circuit that process by agreeing to refer the 2 bills to the Court of Appeal under the Constitutional Questions Act - prior to implementing them.
I would be interested in seeing the outcome of a Charter challenge but I don't think you are going to get a constitutional reference from the government. It would seem like a strange move given the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteThere is no use commenting on this site. Mr. Hubich thanks you for participating (which is a nice touch), but if he doesn't like your comment he deletes it. This is why most, if not all, items on this blog have 0 comments. Dissident opinions have no place in his propaganda.
ReplyDeleteMr. Crooks,
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in this blog. But your allegation that comments are being deleted from this blog are false.
The blog has been operating for approximately one year now. Most people who come here do so for information, not necessarily to comment.
Over that period of time there have been 737 comments posted. Of that entire amount - less than 10 have been deleted by me.
Those comments which have been deleted have clearly crossed the line relative to appropriateness.
I have always welcomed intelligent and respectful debate, and I have never deleted comments on the basis that they are dissenting opinions.
I have all 737 comments archived (including those half dozen or so that have been deleted).
