Reproduced is a letter I received on September 8, 2008 from GSU General Secretary, Hugh Wagner:
Brother Larry Hubich and
Delegates to the Annual SFL OH&S Conference
Sisters and Brothers,
Re: Grain Services Union picket line
Your attendance today at our picket line at Viterra head office together with the solidarity and enthusiasm you brought have done so much to bolster the morale of GSU members who have been on the line since July 7.
Words alone can't express how you have touched the hearts and raised the spirits of GSU members who are fighting the good fight. Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts for your solidarity.
As a token of our appreciation, please be advised that GSU is making an intial donation of $1,000 to the strike fund of our sisters and brothers who are on strike at the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan. In addition, we are sending five GSU t-shirts for you to raffle at your conference in aid of any cause that you choose.
Solidarity,
On Behalf of the Women and Men of GSU
Hugh J. Wagner
General Secretary

How about the antithesis of solidarity? Like say, opposing anti-scab legislation? Simply put, treachery.
Kevin Yate, a union member, NDP MLA and former prison guard, has openly endorsed, to anyone who will listen to his rants, noted pro-scab MP, Ralph Goodale. Ralph Goodale helped kill bill C-257 on March 21, 2007 when he sided with big business, the banks, and the Tories.
For shame Yates. There's no traitor like an old traitor.
