We have witnessed history tonight. Those of us who remember Dr. Martin Luther King ... segregation ... and the struggle of a free people to achieve equality are deeply moved by this event.
Unfortunately, these struggles never end. Those who oppress and repress and take from others for themselves, never tire.
But for tonight, we celebrate the fact that our faith in the positive side of human nature has been validated.
